Friars and Dodgers split

GAME 1
Dodger Stadium
Hurst vs Osteen
SDP 14, LAD 6

The Friars exploded for 14 runs on 17 hits.  Luis Salazar (4-6) had 4 RBI's and scored 4 runs of his own to be the hitting star of the game.  Marvel Wynne chipped in by going 3 for 5.  Every Padre had a hit including reliver Greg Booker.

GAME 2
Whitson vs Sutton
LAD 6, SDP 3

Sutton danced with trouble and was able to stay one step ahead en route to his second win of the season with no defeats.  Willie Crawford's 3 RBI's were the difference maker as the Dodgers even the series.

GAME 3
Jack Murphy Stadium
Downing vs Rasmussen
LAD 7, SDP 3

Al Downing was in and out of trouble all night, but managed to escape with the W.  5 Dodgers had 2 hit games.  Steve Garvey and Frank Robby each recorded triples.

GAME 4
John vs Terrell
SDP 4, LAD 2

2 Dodger errors led to 2 unearned runs, which cost Tommy John the chance to wind up on the positive side of the ledger.  Salazar (3-4) paced the Friars offense and even the series.  Normally surehanded Willie Davis and Steve Garvey were the error makers.  Mark Davis pitched a spotless 9th for the save.
